Leaving Textbooks Behind: An Awesome “Bagless Day” of Kaushal Bodh Activities!

By: Ibtida Natalya Alvin – VIII A

Yesterday, on July 15, 2026, the middle school corridors (Classes VI to VIII) looked completely different. There were no heavy backpacks, no routine lectures, and absolutely no rote learning! Instead, our classrooms transformed into buzzing creative workshops for a special Bagless Day dedicated entirely to Kaushal Bodh Activities.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), Kaushal Bodh is all about introducing us to vocational education through hands-on, real-world skills. The motto of the day was loud and clear: “Create, Innovate, Inspire!” and “Skills Today, Lead Tomorrow!”

Here is a look at the amazing things my schoolmates and I built, dyed, and designed using simple materials and big ideas!

In the science and tech corner, students turned into mini-engineers. Using everyday items like cardboard, bottle caps, straws, and thread, students built working models of simple machines, like pulleys and cranes. Armed with white t-shirts, rubber bands, and fabric dyes, students embraced the rhythm of “Tie it… Dye it… Love the colours!”

As a Class VIII student, this day was a breath of fresh air. It showed us that learning isn’t just about scoring marks on a written test; it’s about solving problems, experimenting without fear of failure, and discovering what we can build with our own hands.

A huge thank you to our school and our teachers for organizing such a memorable day.

We walked in without our school bags, but we definitely walked out with bags full of creativity, confidence, and new skills!
