The true sign of civilization is cleanliness. The NCC cadets of our school rallied from our school to Gulab circle . Cadets held banners  to spread the message of cleanliness. All of them participated with full enthusiasm , rallying and raising consciousness among people to keep their surroundings clean . Diwali celebration and Children’s day the most awaited days in a child’s life were organised on 7th November 2023 . Diwali is a festival of lights hence, we started our program by lighting diya and solemn prayer service. Teachers sang song for their adorable children.Skitswere also performed by students which symbolised true friendship and family bonds . The programme was followed by enthusiastic dance performance by the  teachers . Subsequently we had a fair where children relished mouth-watering meals, enjoyed  playing games and DJ.The  celebration wasenjoyed at the fullest by the students. Archie Purawat IX B

On 5th of September teachers’ day was celebrated to show love towards our dear teachers who work hard to mould us.  The cultural program was put up under the guidance of our respected Sisters . As is the practice the program started with prayer service followed by various dances, skit and songs. As it is rightly said “Health is Wealth”. To promote awareness on this topic Dr Poonam Yadav joined us on 8th September to conduct an interactive session on health and hygiene for classes 6th to 10th. She reflected her profound knowledge on the topic and highlighted how important it is to be fit and healthy. She explained the students about menstrual cycle, it’s problems and exercises to overcome the pain and shared her knowledge how the menstruation starts between the age of 9-13, its 4 stages, and the common problems faced by women such as cramps, back pain, fatigue or weakness etc. She also taught students some of the exercises to reduce this pain such as yoga, stretching and many more. It was an insightful experience to listen to her and learn about an important topic related to our health. The session ended with the vote of thanks to Dr. Poonam for giving her valuable time to the students.  Another session was held on Menstrual hygiene by consultant gynaecologist Dr.Swati Gaur on 29th Sept 23,in which she made the students aware about  hygiene and  nutrition especially during menstruation. The Hindi Club of our school has been actively engaged in promoting the beauty and richness of the Hindi language among our students. Through various activities and events we aim to foster a love for Hindi and enhance the linguistic skill of our students. On 9th September 2023, the Hindi Club organized various events and competitions for the students of classes i.e. 6th to 10th. For class 6th there was a “Story Telling” competition, for class 7th- “Introduction of the Literature’ and for class 8th – “Humorous Comic Poetry “was organised. “Extempore” for class 9th and “Mime Act” for class 10th.These activities enabled the students to improve their public speaking skills, creativity and expression. All the students participated enthusiastically and show cased their talent in Hindi Literature. These activities foster the deeper understanding, confidence and knowledge in the students.  In this way the Hindi Club was been successful inpromoting Hindi language within our school community. Debate is one of the academic activities that give students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through this is simply unparalleled. With the same perspective in view, the Inter-House Debate Competition was organised by the English Club on 16th September, 2023. The topic of debate chosen for classes 9th and 10th was “Peer Pressure enables you to take right decision and for classes, 11th and 12th it was “Development of AI should be welcomed into our lives” Some participants argued for the motion and some against the motion but all of them exhibited great oratory skills. They put in tremendous hard work to showcase their hidden talent. The debaters displayed confidence in presenting their arguments before the audience and a panel of eminent Jury Members, Ma’am Shimpi and Ma’am Agatha. The heated but interesting debate came to an end with some precious and encouraging words from the Respected Sister Principal. Sisters’ day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by all the students of the school on 13th Sept 23 The program was organized on 13th of September in the school hall. The whole school was beautifully decorated and all the notice boards were adorned by creative charts made with love by the students. All the Sisters were welcomed cheerfully by little students from the primary section and  felicitated with  bouquets and cards by the teachers.The students from KG to class 12th enthusiastically took part in different dances, group songs , skit  throwing light on the life of Sisters in the congregation, thus expressing their love and gratitude The event ended with Sister Lizzi’s encouraging speech and a vote of thanks by Sir Piyush. With a great desire to revive the logical brains of our children, a Science quiz was conducted for classes 6th to 8th on 16th of September. It was a house wise competition and each house was given a name of a prominent scientist. There were four rounds which included a warm up round , picture perfect round ,audio visual round and rapid fire. Daily life scientific learning was tested in the questions and participants gave a satisfactory performance. Moreover the last set of questions were for the audience and the audience participated enthusiastically .At last our Principal Sister Cynthia said some few words and inspired the students to participate more and learn more. The Commerce Club of Sophia Girls’ Sr. Sec. School hosted a vibrant inter-school competition on 23rd September 2023 that saw participation from nine  schools.The judges were Ms.Sara Jain(CS) and Ms Kriti GuptaThe event was divided into two rounds, each aimed at evaluating the students’ creativity, knowledge, and business acumen. The first round featured three different rounds : Advertising Appetizing, Explicative Collage, and a surprising Business Bingo round. Following this, the second and final round consisted of four challenging rounds: Subject Shot Gun, B2B , Who Am I, and Machine Gun.The Commerce Club’s inter-school competition provided a remarkable platform to the students to showcase their creativity and knowledge in the field of commerce and beyond.
